The digital journal Internet Archaeology http://intarch.ac.uk has just celebrated 20 years of publishing on the web. The journal became an Open Access journal in 2014.

In many ways, the journal is not very traditional in its publication approach and content goes far beyond text and static images, ranging from GIS and VR, to datasets
and RTI. The journal also has a close relationship with the Archaeology Data Service (ADS), the national digital archive for archaeology in the UK (also open access). As Editor of the journal, I will present and explore my experiences of producing an Open Access journal.

Collaboration with the ADS has affected and affects the nature of the digital content published in Internet Archaeology. I will also present the range of projects we have worked on together, exploring the linkage between digital archives and publications (LEAP project, open badges and 'data papers') and will highlight the different ways it is possible to produce a scientific publication in a context where large quantities of (certified, open) data are available.
